We have just celebrated our second anniversary and the building is now 90% occupied.  Daily room hire of the two function rooms is proving very popular, and Maximos has completed its first year as a family-friendly Italian bistro.

History of the development:

At the end of March 02 Durham Associates managed to purchase the listed building that we had been renting from Castle Eden Brewery for the previous 7 years.  Sadly brewing ceased at Christmas 01 and the operation is now combined with Cameron's brewery in Hartlepool.  The ugly brewery buildings were demolished and Charles Church built around 60 luxury homes on the site.  The planners were particularly keen that the 1 acre on which our listed building sits should be retained for commercial use including offices and possible leisure use.  Attached to the listed building were two more recent and less visually appealing buildings.  One of these has been demolished and rebuilt in a style to match the listed frontage.  In total this has provided around 11,000 sq feet of office and restaurant space
